COMPANY PROFILE

RAS was founded in May 2004 by John B. Barber, a native Tennessean with over seven years of experience in civil litigation as an insurance defense paralegal. A graduate of both Belmont University (BA - religion and philosophy) and Baylor University (MA - political science), John's professional life has been dedicated to making the

process of litigation as seamless as possible for trial lawyers - most recently as a paralegal with Arnett, Draper and Hagood of Knoxville. During his time with Smith Haughey Rice & Roegge, P.C., the second largest medical malpractice insurance defense firm in the state of Michigan, John developed a particular specialty in the procurement of medical information for discovery purposes by being actively involved in that firm's efforts to modify their records acquisition and expert retention protocols to comply with the newly-enacted federal privacy rules (HIPAA Privacy Rules). With John as its Chief Executive Officer, Records Acquisition Services, Inc. is uniquely positioned to offer a professional service that truly makes the pursuit of justice more manageable for its advocates.

A partner in the Baton Rouge, LA office of Adams & Reese, LLP, Frost specializes in health care law -- with a particular specialty in HIPAA and health information issues. He manages www.lawyersandhipaa.com, a web site devoted to exploring issues related to HIPAA and personal injury litigation. Since the inception of the federal privacy rule, Frost has been widely regarded as an expert on the subject of HIPAA's relation to personal injury litigation. Indeed, the Defense Research Institute (DRI) selected Frost to lead its August 19, 2003 CLE teleconference "Lawyers and HIPAA," a program intended to provide participants with "the tools and knowledge needed to effectively handle this new issue in personal injury litigation."
